# Cloud Hosted Drive Mappings And Subscription Configuration

The network drive mappings you configure for your users, and various other subscription settings, are updated and hosted in the <code class="expression">space.vars.PRODUCT\_NAME</code> activation service. The <code class="expression">space.vars.PRODUCT\_NAME</code> [activation service](/introduction/subscription.md) is hosted in the Microsoft Azure cloud.

As the <code class="expression">space.vars.PRODUCT\_NAME</code> network drive mappings are cloud hosted, they are available from any location and any device that your users sign-in to where the <code class="expression">space.vars.PRODUCT\_NAME</code> client is activated. There is no on-premises infrastructure or service component that you need to host and run yourself.

Users can be at your organisation's head office, at their home office, at a hotel, or in another country; so no matter where your users roam, when they sign in to their computer, <code class="expression">space.vars.PRODUCT\_NAME</code> will read the drive mappings and subscription settings from the activation service and apply them to the users' File Explorer.
