# Change Folder Colours

Changing the colours of your folders can help with organisation and visual identification of your folder structures.

Your <code class="expression">space.vars.PRODUCT\_NAME</code> subscription administrator has most likely enabled folder colours for your personal business files (I.e. your OneDrive for Business files) and *may* have enabled folder colours for corporate files. Here's how to change the folder colour:

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
From Windows File Explorer, right click the folder you want to change, expand the <code class="expression">space.vars.PRODUCT\_NAME</code> sub-menu and click the "Change the colour of this folder" option. If you don't see the option available on the menu then either your administrator has not enabled the feature on the network drive, or, the specific folder does not support changing its folder colour

{% endstep %}

{% step %}
The Change Colour dialog will pop-open. A range of 16 different colours will be shown for you to select from. The name of the folder you right clicked and its current colour will be selected by default

{% endstep %}

{% step %}
To change the colour, select the new colour from the palette of 16 then click the Apply Colour button

{% endstep %}

{% step %}
After the new colour has ben applied, your folder in File Explorer should update with the new colour promptly. In this example, of applying the grey colour, I changed the folder from dark blue to grey

{% endstep %}

{% step %}
You can either close the Change Colour dialog by clicking the Close button or the top right X button, or you can select a different colour to apply to the folder
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}
